Rick Randel
Rick represents businesses and entrepreneurs in forming new companies, raising capital, equity compensation, mergers and acquisitions, architecture/engineering law, and general business matters. He became interested in sustainability while researching a novel on the effects of global warming. He joined Katovich Law Group in an effort to align his career with his personal values.
Rick began his legal career in 1988 as an associate with a large San Francisco law firm, where his practice included corporate and partnership transactions, real estate and other syndications, and mergers and acquisitions. This was followed by a five-year stint as in-house counsel for a diversified real estate investment, syndication and property-management firm in Southern California. Prior to joining Katovich Law Group, Rick practiced as a Senior Attorney with a medium-sized San Francisco firm, where his practice focused on new venture formation, private placements of securities, mergers and acquisitions, and equity compensation.
Rick received his J.D., cum laude, in 1988 from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. He received his B.A., cum laude, from UCLA in 1983. He lives in Oakland with his wife, Joy, and daughter, Sierra. He is active on Sierra’s school gardening committee and leads her class in weekly gardening activities.
